INDUSTRIAL MANIPULATORS
AIMCO Manipulators are ideal for material handling of
light to heavy loads and capacities range up to 1700
LBs. Vertical lifts are available up to 90 inches and the
Manipulator operates on 90 PSI plant air.
A Manipulator is only one component of a work cell or
material handling system. AIMCO provides a variety of
both standard and Custom End Tooling to safely and
efficiently handle material loads.
AIMCO Manufacturing can customize it’s standard designs of lift assist equipment to suit your application.
AIMCO Window Handling Features:
♦ Ideal for picking or placing windows from
“A-Frame” carts and packaging operations
♦ Capacity up to 300 LBs
♦ Handles window sizes from 1 to 10 feet
♦ Contact with window is pressure controlled and non- marring
♦ Operates on 90 PSI plant air
♦ Set-down safety prevents loads from dropping
LET BARNES AND ASSOCIATES and AIMCO MANUFACTURING work with your company to design and build manipulator and end effector tools to suit your application needs. Below are just a few examples of AIMCO's applications.

AIMCO Standard Control Packages Standard Safeties
Loss-of-Air Safety – All AIMCO Lift Assist Equipment is
equipped with loss of air safety to prevent the arm or load
from dropping in the event of a disruption or loss in the
supply air.
Load-at-Rest Safety – AIMCO provides a “Load at Rest”
or “Set Down” safety on its equipment supplied with end
effector tooling. This safety interfaces the release button
of the tooling with the air pressure in the lifting device,
disabling the release button until the load has been set
upon a resting surface and lift pressure relieved from the
lift device. This safety cannot be used with Zero Gravity
control circuits.
Overload Protection – AIMCO prevents the overloading
of a lift assist system by one of two methods:
1. If the system is air cylinder based, such as a
torque arm or balancer, then system overload is
prevented through proper sizing of the cylinder or
balancer.
2. If the system is air hoist based, then AIMCO will
incorporate its AIM7000 overload restriction
package. This safety prevents the air hoist from
lifting more than the combined weight of the
tooling and payload, plus 10%, by disabling the
hoist’s up button in an overload or snag condition.
